Late reports have Wakefield beating Green Hope 31-7 in pre-season play.
Via text message, a member of the varsity Cheerleading team reported that Matt Byrd was injured late in the 4th quarter causing the game to end in a forfeiture for Green Hope while medical services were en route. Mr. Byrd’s condition was not known at the time of this report.
Green Hope opens its varsity football season at home next week against Leesville Road.
