This Friday marks the 8th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11. Cary has planned a concert at Bond Park’s Sertoma Theater to commemorate this day. Sponsored by the Town of Cary Sister Cities Commission, “September 11th Commemoration: A Time of Remembrance and Reflection”, the commemoration is one of more than 100 events being held worldwide.
The program will also feature a greeting from each of Cary’s four Sister Cities, an appearance by John Webster – Cary’s Town Crier, and performances by the Triangle Brass Ensemble and other local talent.
“Even eight years after that tragic day, the events of September 11 are still felt around the world, and it is only befitting that our community join the nation and world to remember the victims and celebrate their lives,” said Cultural Arts Manager Lyman Collins.
The event starts at 7:30 and is free and open to the public.
