The Great American Cross Country Festival had beautiful weather for its return to Cary. Dozens of teams and hundreds of high school and college athletes from across the eastern U.S. competed Saturday at Wake Med Soccer Park.
Hundreds of spectators saw new records set on a cool, dry day. The Festival featured its first ever race between teams from historically black colleges including regional favorites Shaw and NC Central.
All in all, an exciting and well-produced event that is most welcome in its return to the Cary sports scene.
