Dracula

Between The Twilight Saga and True Blood, vampires have become one of the hottest trends in America. So it was no surprise that Applause! Cary Youth Theatre would want to go back to the original fang-toothed ghoul, Dracula.
Upon their arrival at Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park, the audience was greeted by wolves howling and barking.
Judy Diab who came to see her grandson said, “This was an excellent group of kids, it was quite well done. You think you are just coming to see a bunch of kids but it was really a very mature production.” All the kids had accents that were right on from British to Scottish to Transylvanian.
When Dracula made his first appearance in the play the lights dimmed and turned blue, the garden doors swung open and in came Dracula through the fog almost like a dream. According to Jonathan Kramer, “I thought the play was marvelous. It was very scary; I’m not going to sleep well tonight. The dreams, the dreams…”
