What better way to start the Holiday Season, than with the quintessential story of hope and redemption?
Cary Players announces the production of “It’s A Wonderful Life” as a 1940’s style live radio drama to be performed December 4-7, 2009, at the unique and spacious Town of Cary Council Chambers. Using a script by Phil Grecian, nearly thirty local and talented performers will re-create this classic story based on the holiday movie favorite by Frank Capra.
Directed by Debra Grannan, with musical direction by Craig Johnson, the show is set on the stage of a 1940s radio studio, with actors taking turns at the old microphones playing the multiple, memorable characters of Bedford Falls. In addition, a team of foley artists enhances the story with authentic 1940s sound effects using an array of vintage items and gadgets. Based on the success of last year’s production, Cary Players is producing the show again as one of the many family holiday events taking place in downtown Cary this December.
Tickets went on sale November 4th and can be purchased through www.ticketmaster.com or at the Herbert C. Young Community Center (101 Wilkinson Ave, Cary, NC 27513).
For group pricing, call Sarah Preston at 919-462-3969. Also, there will be a special performance for military families on Monday, December 7th, at 7pm for $7 per person.
