Cary, NC- Congratulations to Cary High School’s NJROTC Cadets for winning first place at the Cape Fear Drill and Academic meet Saturday November 21. In the field of 19 schools Cary was first in Drill and first in the Academic Competition.
Saturday, the Cary High School Navy JROTC competed in the Cape Fear Drill and Academic Competition. There were 19 schools in the Drill Competition with teams from all over North and one from South Carolina competing. The Cary Cadets finished first overall. Cary won the Color Guard competition and the Unarmed Exhibition Platoon competition both led by Cadet Grace Earley. The cadets also tied for first place in the Unarmed Exhibition Squad competition led by Cadet Rebecca Law. Leaders of other trophy winning teams were Austin Hurlock and Jessica Waters. In the Academic Competition the Cary cadets also took top honors with cadets Austin Hurlock, Beth Tabor and Brendon Burns leading the way. In the individual competitions first year cadet, Brittany Bivins took first place in the Unarmed Knockout Drill in competition with over 170 competitors.
