Cary, NC – A fire caused major damage to a building in Dunham Park on Saturday evening.

According to reports, Cary Police believe someone set a blaze in a trash can shortly after dark. Cary Fire Department responded around 6:30 PM.

The damage appeared to be worst inside the building, indicating the flaming trash can was inside the Men’s Room. Melted plastic debris suggested the fire achieved considerable intensity. Roof beams were charred black in the front and back of the structure.

Contradicting a report on WRAL, the roof did not appear to be collapsed anywhere on the structure.
