Cary, NC – We try to talk about the happy news in town, but these are some saddening pictures. Fortunately, the story has a happy ending. The dog saved the family.

I came across this spectacle on Green Hope School Road west of Highway 55 while scoping out the progress of the 540 extension (story for another day).

Town Councilwoman Jennifer Robinson told me over coffee during the week (story for another day) that the family pet woke everyone to the blaze in the middle of the night.

The house appears to be completely lost, but it sounds like all the lives were saved. A sad story with a happy ending.
