Cary, NC- I’ve been working on the Cary Citizen calendar for about 4 months now, and I’d like to draw everyone’s attention to the fact that this town has an incredible array of offerings for its residents.
This week looks pretty typical:
For the Politically minded:
Town Council Meets on Thursday at 6:30- their actual agenda will be posted Wednesday, and I will update the calendar entry at that time
Wake County Board of Education holds a public speaks out about calendar choice at Panther Creek High School beginning at 6:30.
If you have small children:
The Grove School is officially open. They are hosting an all-day open house. Councilman Erv Portman will conduct the ribbon cutting and councilwoman Gale Adcock will conduct a mid-day storytime. Food will be provided by Whole Foods!
Attend a Cary Public Library story hour Wednesday from 10-12 for toddlers or Preschoolers.
For the Sports Enthusiast:
Baseball- St Augustines College played vs Columbia Union Baseball out at Thomas Brookes USA Baseball Park Monday.
Like to run? Green Hope High School is holding their first annual 5K Fun Run to benefit their booster Club.
If you are into the Theater:
Green Hope High School is performing their own high school musical- “Fame” Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
For the Art Lovers:
At Jordan Hall Arts Center this Thursday at 7:30, famed pastel artist, Sally Strand , is doing a demo session of how to work with her favorite medium.
It’s Final Friday again in downtown Cary (No snow on the agenda this time!) Cary Gallery of Artists in Ashworth Village is hosting a reception from 6-9pm Feb 26th.
For Business People:
The Cary Chamber of Commerce is throwing their Annual gala fundraiser titled the Follies on Thursday evening.
Hoped that made you proud to live in a town where things are happening! Just one of the reasons I love this job!
