Cary, NC – Time is running out to register for the Town of Cary’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources’ youth baseball and softball leagues.
Boys and girls ages 5-18 interested in playing have until March 1 or until the league is full to take advantage of this opportunity. Practices for youth baseball and softball leagues begin March 27. Games begin April 17 and the season ends in late June.
“The Town of Cary has an ongoing goal of providing fun, high-quality athletic programs for the youth of Cary and surrounding communities,” said Leda Isenhour, marketing specialist with the Town of Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department. “These leagues place added emphasis on sportsmanship, skill development, fun and participation—all great skills necessary to succeed in sports and in life.”
Youth baseball and softball leagues are divided based on age. Youth baseball participants must meet age requirements as of April 30, 2010 and youth softball participants must meet age requirements as of January 1, 2010. League groups are as follows:
Baseball:
• T-ball, ages 5-6
• Mite, ages 7-8
• Mustang, ages 9-10
• Bronco, ages 11-12
• Pony, ages 13-14
• Colt, ages 15-16
• Babe Ruth, ages 17-18
Softball
• 10 and Under, ages 8-10
• 12 and Under, ages 11-12
• 14 and Under, ages 13-14
• 18 and Under, ages 15-18
