Cary, NC – The Cary Jaycees and Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival presents the second annual Amateur Photo Contest [Brochure] for the community.

Everyone can participate, adults and youth.  If you love to take pictures and are not a professional paid photographer, this event is for you. All entries will be displayed during Spring Daze on April 24, 2010 at Bond Park at the Boat House.

Community professionals will judge all entries and winners will be presented at 12:15 PM at the Earth Day Stage. Entries must be received or postmarked by April 5, 2010.

  • Youth – ages 18 & under; Color or Black/White; Film or Digital; Categories:
    • Landscape
    • People
  • Prizes/Awards
    • Best of Show
    • First Place
    • Ribbons for 2nd and 3rd
    • People’s Choice (Vote on April 24 from 9AM-3PM at the Boat House)
    • Honorable Mentions

Definition of Amateur

If you are paid or accept money of $200 or more for your photographs you are not considered an amateur in this contest.

The United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees) gives young people between the ages of 18 and 41 the tools they need to build the bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, individual training, community service, and international connections. The U.S. Junior Chamber is a non-profit corporation/organization as described under IRS code 501.

With the focus of the nation on volunteerism, from the smallest towns to the largest cities, the Jaycees are enlarging areas of opportunity for young people.
