Story by Matt Young
Cary, NC – One of the best kept secrets in Cary is Preston Walk on Darrington Drive and Cary Parkway. To acquaint the community with their fine offerings, Capital Bank is sponsoring “Summer Nights” at Preston Walk – live music, treats and specials.
Starting on Thursday, June 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Preston Walk will be the venue for live music (on the opening day provided by SHMaK, a local classic rock band) and specials and free stuff for everyone. Sip, the center’s wine store will have drink specials. Henry’s Gelato will have free gelato for kids under 12. The restaurants in Preston Walk will offer food specials.
Henry Dirkmaat, owner of Henry’s Gelato told us: “We have been located in Preston Walk for more than three years! We appreciate our valued and very loyal customers. Many new friendships have been created, and we’re excited about the possibility of serving our friends at our Preston Walk location for many more years!”
We’ve covered stories about several of the stores in Preston Walk which include Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano, Stonewood Tavern & Grill, Panera Bread, Alexia’s Bridal Boutique, My Gym, Inside Out Sports, La Therapie, Itsy Bitsy Baby Spa, Fitness Together, Gel Salon, Henry’s Gelato, Lenda Goulding Real Estate, Sylvan Learning Center and new tenant Sip. Sip is a locally owned winery specializing in environmentally sustainable, organic & biodynamic wines, beers & beverages. It is a new and exciting business run by a local Preston family.
“Cary’s residents are worldly, educated, well-traveled and they care about what goes on in their town and their environment. I carry wine, beer and non-alcoholics from all over the world, that benefit the environment and taste great. There isn’t one thing that my fellow residents wouldn’t like!” said April Schlanger, owner of Sip.
The center was constructed in 2001 by Preston Development Company. The retail center is trying to bring the community together to enjoy the benefits of their “tenants”. Preston Development is excited about their newest tenants, Sip, Sylvan Learning Center and their new “neighbor,” O2 Fitness, Summer Nights event coordinator Annie Gebhard told me.
So put on your dancing shoes and come early. See you there!
