Cary, NC – Note to motorists: a new traffic light is being installed on Davis Drive just south of High House.
Its purpose is to manage traffic coming onto Davis Drive from Cornerstone shopping center and Searstone.
Searstone, currently under development, is adding a bank to the new CVS already on the property. No word on exactly when we’ll start seeing residential units.
Cornerstone is adding a cheer gym, Carolina Legacy Allstars. Land is cleared and construction should begin shortly. The business, a legacy of Impact, is moving to Cornerstone from a temporary home on James Jackson.

The photographer in me loved the new signals wrapped in fabric – kind of like René Magritte meets the DOT. Transportation, seemingly the most prosaic of activities, can often take on a surreal quality. Anyone who’s been to LaGuardia knows what I’m talking about.

I spotted that too. Seems logical. What would really help though is a left turn signal for the light on high house to help people get OUT of Cornerstone. Sadly I think someone will either crash or get run over if nothing is done. On many evenings it takes sheer acts of bravery and blatent red light running to make a left turn out of there.

Our friend Janet Seaquist tells us it’s a Bojangles, not a bank:
“Nice photo! the building under construction is the Bojangles. There may be a bank too, but this light is near the restaurant. http://sitesubplans.townofcary.org/BojanglesAtSearstone_09-SP-042/planindex.htm Can’t find any Bank plans under review yet.
Last I checked with NCDOI (Ron Ennis) Searstone was still a number of units from the minimum required contracts in order to start construction.”
Thanks for the info, Janet!

Another Bojangles?? C’mon Cary — time for some healthier restaurant options here. Cary Pediatrics has recently added a BMI category to their annual exam check up sheets. Clearly, we need intervention. Bojangles ain’t it.
One disappointed citizen here…

I live near it – pass by almost every day.
We’ll do a story when it opens.

Hi Bob,
Bojangles was supposed to have opened today, hence the large number of cars. However someone has informed me they are opening next Tuesday.

We heard Tuesday Oct 26 for Bojangles from our sources as well. Happy to say the traffic light is now working from Davis Dr into Cornerstone is now operational.
