CARY, N.C. –Last week, the USA Baseball Training Complex at Thomas Brooks Park hosted the USA Women’s Baseball team (that’s right- Baseball- NOT Softball) as the team won every game against their opponents: Australia’s National Team and the Southern Stars also from Australia.

See the slide shows from our photographers Chris Adamczyk and Karl Fisher who braved the heat to head to the USA Baseball National Training Complex.

Couple of crushing victories here (16-2 and 14-10). Read the full stories on USA Baseball:

Stand out players

Jenny Dalton-Hill and Nicki Holt both led Team USA with three RBIs apiece in a 16-2 win over the Southern Stars on Monday. USA’s pitching staff, led by Marti Sementelli, held the Stars to two runs on four hits in a shortened, six-inning exhibition game.

Sementelli struck out four and walked just one in two innings of one-hit baseball. Lindsay Horwitz did not yield a hit or a walk in two relief innings before giving way to Loren Smith, who allowed one run in an inning of work. Christin Sobeck finished the Monday game on the mound for the U.S. giving up a run on two hits in one inning.

Where next?

Team USA travels to Venezuela today to compete in the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) World Cup, Aug. 12-22.
