Environment: Master Recyclers Accepting Volunteers

August 18, 2010 | Story by: | Categories: Environment, Featured

Cary, NC – Wake County Department of Solid Waste is now accepting applications for its Master Recycler program.

Volunteers will be trained to support FEED THE BIN, an initiative that puts paper recycling in every Wake County public school. More than 7 million pounds of paper have been recycled since the program began in 2004.

Master Recyclers will also help county citizens, families, and youth learn about being better environmental stewards.

Program training dates begin at the end of August. WakeGov has set up a page where you can request an application for the program. Since Master Recyclers work in the schools, a background check is included in the packet. Volunteers must be 18 or older.

Help our community go green. Become a Master Recycler today.
