Cary, NC – Engineering giant ABB, with North American headquarters in Cary, announced that it will add 130 jobs in Mecklenburg and Wake Counties.
While the bulk of those positions (about 100) will be in Huntersville, this is good news for the home team with the promise of continued growth and success.
ABB, with world headquarters in Zurich, employs about 117,000 people worldwide.
The new facility in Huntersville will make high-voltage transmission cables with an eye to a growing solar and wind power market.
ABB was awarded a grant for up to $2.5 million, based upon achieving job creation and investment goals. The 130 new hires will average over $64,000 each in annual salaries.
