Nancy Alinovi owner of Adore Boutique, is chairing fashionSPARKshop Sat Sept 18

Cary, NC-  Nancy Alinovi and her husband Rob, owners of Adore Boutique in Cary, are helping head up the “fashionSPARKshop” Saturday in Downtown Raleigh – part of fashionSPARK which follows a huge fashion show to highlight local Triangle fashion talent.

FashionSPARK

Nancy said that she attended the fashion event in Raleigh last year.  The $100 ticket price included front row seats and a rocking red carpet party. It got her thinking that  she’d like to see Cary involved. Some months later, stylist Katie Little contacted her to help with another event : “Dogs Unchained”. Turned out that Katie was also Chairing fashionSPARK and asked Nancy to help coordinate the”shop” part of the event this year.

fashionSPARKshop is where the designers featured on the runway this Friday night can sell their designs the next day (Saturday Sept. 18 from 10am- 5pm) at City Plaza. ADORE is also proud to have been the fashionSPARK official drop off for their partnership with the charity Dress for Success.”

Dress for Success is a Durham-based organization that helps dress women for job interviews and for their first few weeks at work.  People have been dropping off their donations in the weeks leading up to this event.

Pat Nathan, executive director of Dress for Success of the Triangle states “Dress for Success relies on corporate partnerships for volunteers, collections of clothing, accessories and office supplies, as well as financial resources.”

Dress by Jess Pati Designs will be shown at fashionSPARK

Events part of Larger SPARKcon

This fashion event is part of a much larger movement called SPARKcon.

SPARKcon was founded in 2006 by Beth and Aly Khalifa and Designbox to showcase, celebrate and influence the creative momentum of the Triangle region of North Carolina. SPARKcon uses an open-source organizational approach to empower diverse creative thinkers to be inspiring community leaders. By organizing events that involve dance, music visual arts and fashion a “spark” ignites a fire of creativity. Which in turn fuels the fire that lights the Triangle as a creative hub.

In the Store

Currently Adore is featuring 3 of the shows designers: Good Girls Studios, a line of reworked jewelry; Molly Beads, another jewelry line; and Jess Pati Designs clothing.  Adore, a consignment shop,  is known for their eclectic mix clothing in the setting of a high-end boutique. Pretty cool idea.

Fashion Week is happening all over the world this month. FashionSPARK highlights local talent available to buy and wear right now. Why not go out and check out what’s happening this weekend and support the locals.
