Cary, NC – In my role as CaryCitizen Worldwide Fashion Editor, I checked in with Nancy Alinovi, owner of Adore Boutique in Cary to see how the Holiday trends are shaping up in the upscale resale world.
Adore goes for “trendy”, and they had plenty of embellished items in shades of gray, two of the trends we have seen playing out elsewhere. Cardigans have been great early sellers with “drapey” collars and fly-away hems.
Plenty of Bling
This holiday season you can expect to see plenty of bling! as evidenced in the pictures above and below : sequins, beads and rhinestones.
Not only does Nancy have bling in her store – she is hosting her second annual “Bling! Night” on Dec 1. The deals will be great she tells us, and she keeps her store open a little later than usual (until 9 p.m.). She’ll be serving up her favorite cocktails – white peach Cosmos – and three jewelry designers will be on hand: Molly Beads, Good Girls and Zass designs. Each of these designers has a penchant for “recycling” vintage jewelry and then re-designing it with a twist.
For added fun – recycle your old gold jewelry. A jeweler will be at the store that night to buy up those gold pieces that are either broken or out of style.
Mr. & Mrs. Claus Help a Charity
Adore will be having another fun holiday event on Dec. 11, when Santa and Mrs. Claus (what IS her first name?) will show up and some elves will be singing carols. Funds raised that night will go towards a favorite charity, Striving For More, that assists patients and families dealing with a terminally ill child.
This story is part of a continuing series where I check out what’s in store in our local boutiques. CaryCitizen firmly believes in Shopping Local. So Shop Cary this holiday season!
