Cary, NC – The Hankin family opened Peachy Keen in August of 2012 in the Harrison Point Shopping Center and have already started making a name for themselves. This weekend they held their second seasonal fashion show, dubbed Wonderland, which sold out.

Earlier this season, I visited with Karly Hankin, who is the buyer for Peachy Keen, and she previewed looks that were coming in for Spring 2013. Her sister, Jen, manages the marketing , her mother, Donna, and father Lee, own Joint Venture which specializes in estate jewelry and shares the large retail space. Early trends were feminine and lacy, with touches of pretty coral and teal. We saw Spring enfold more fully this weekend on the runway.

The event was packed with local fashionistas who enjoyed some wine and hors d’eavres pre-show. Donna Hankin welcomed the crowd and gave away some fun raffles to warm up the audience before the models presented 36 looks from feminine and vintage-inspired to tribal tunics and maxi dresses.

Just as the store prides itself on being able to outfit moms and their daughters, the models spanned all ages and sizes. Looks started casual with jeans by Kut paired with tunics, and moved to flirty skirts and blouses and ended with twelve very different dresses in silk, lace and chiffon. All perfect to wear here in Cary for date night,  girls night out, or heading to the office.

The crowd loved the looks and post-show were eager to head to the dressing rooms and try out what they had just seen. Favorites were dresses in knits that can span the season in floral prints.

No one left empty-handed, generous sponsors worked with Peachy Keen to fill swag bags with trips to the gym and discounts for tea and tanning.

We look forward to what Karly and Jen Hankin come up with for next Fall because they are putting excitement into Cary Fashion this season!
