Harold’s Blog: 12 Eagle Scouts

12 eagle scouts

Cary, NC — Happy New Year! This week was the second of two holiday weeks so there was a limited amount of things going on in the town.

Slow Week at the Office

Tuesday I had a brief conversation with the town manager and there were no major issues.

Thursday I finished the first draft of the State of the Town address and turned it over to the Public Information Office for fact checking.

I spent the rest of the week preparing a year in review presentation that I will give at Glenaire next week.

12 Eagle Scouts

Saturday I had the honor and privilege to participate in an Eagle Scout ceremony for twelve scouts which has to be some kind of a record.

Reading one proclamation for all twelve Eagle Scouts was quite a challenge. Some of their Eagle Scout projects included a kiosk, benches, planters, picnic tables, a footbridge, exercise bars, and bird houses.

Cary is blessed to have these young men volunteering and helping in their community. The ceremony was well attended and even had News 14 there for a TV story.

Emails

Emails from citizens this week included a question about the Chanukah festival in Cary, an idea for the replacement of the water town on Maynard Road, a request for help from someone who is homeless, and a complaint about the apartments at the Bradford.

Get in Touch

This week it will be back to a more normal schedule. It will include meetings, a presentation at Glenaire, and a regularly scheduled council meeting.

Well that is all for this week. My next post will be on Sunday January 12th. Although I have Facebook and Twitter accounts those are not the best means of communications with me. Please send all Town of Cary questions or comments to Harold.Weinbrecht@townofcary.org and email personal comments to augustanat@mindspring.com.
