Cary, NC — You won’t want to miss this weekend in Cary. The weather is getting warmer, and the calendar is overflowing with spring festivals, activities, and fun for citizens of all ages.

The weather should be fair this Friday evening, so unwind from your workweek by taking a stroll through Ashworth Village and the rest of Downtown Cary. It’s Final Friday, which means the Cary Art Loop is back with extended hours in Downtown galleries, shops and restaurants. Festivities start at 6 pm.

The Cary Town Band will put on a very special show Friday evening at the Cary Arts Center at 7:30 pm. Watch the result of weeks of hard work and preparation at this free concert where nominated band students will play alongside adult band members.

Kids of all ages can have breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday morning at 8:30 am at Bond Park (right before the big Easter egg hunt!). Pre-sale tickets are required for this event; parents can purchase tickets for their children, or get more information, by calling 919-460-4965.

Then, starting at 10 am and lasting for most of the day, kids can join the Town of Cary for the 24th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Bond Park. The event features three hunt areas, each for a different age group. After the hunt, families can join Scott Sheldon for a magic show. This event is free, but kids need to bring their own baskets. Get there early for good parking.

Too old to hunt for Easter eggs? Then check out the Beer & Bacon Festival at Koka Booth from noon-6 pm on Saturday. Tickets, which range from $25-$69, are available at the gate or beforehand. This all-you-can-taste event will feature 75 craft beers, 15 restaurants and bacon from across the United States.

An African American Literary Tea will be held at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center on Sunday from 2-4 pm. Attendees will hear about the thrilling, mysterious, romantic, and fantastic worlds that various authors have created. Light refreshments and tea will be served; purchase tickets ($10) through etix.

Across the Triangle

BrickUniverse 2015 will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center on Saturday, March 28, 2015-Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 10:30 am-4 pm on both days. This LEGO fan event will feature galleries, markets and LEGO brick building activities for both younger and older children. Tickets can be ordered online or purchased at the door.

Also on Saturday and Sunday this weekend, the Museum of Life and Science in Durham will host a Dino Egg Hunt. This event for ages 6 and under will allow kids to unearth colorful eggs, take photos with a dinosaur and dig up real fossils. Tickets can be purchased online.

A Chapel Hill Antiques Fair will take place on both Saturday from 8 am-5 pm and on Sunday from 9 am-4 pm at the American Legion Post #6 at 1714 Legion Road in Chapel Hill. Food vendors will be on-site along with a large variety of antiques–including furniture, toys, pottery, house items, hardware and more.
