Bond Brothers Grand Opening

Cary, NC – The weather was iffy and the parking was dicey, but that didn’t keep the crowds from turning out for the Bond Brothers Brewery grand opening and food truck rodeo.

The Day It All Changed in Downtown Cary

Overall impression: something new is going on Downtown.

Despite the construction, the traffic snarl and the parking imbroglio, thousands turned out for Bond Brothers grand opening.

Don’t get me wrong, Lazy Daze is great. But this was different. This had a feeling of spontaneity – a big, old party behind a construction site, hard up against the railroad tracks. This was local.

Bond Brothers were pouring 10 different brews. I tried a summer wheat thing with a lemony twist and also sampled big, hearty Red ale with healthy kick. Ahhhhhh.

The lines were insane and the sound system underpowered, but nobody cared. The headliner act, Yep Roc Records Chatham County Line, was a perfect fit for the afternoon – loose and easy, melodious and precise all at once.

It was hipsters and oldsters, kids and dogs, guys in beer t-shirts and girls with tattoos. It was the day it all changed in Downtown Cary.

Having attended and being a craft beer guy. This was an event that resembled a Woodstock gathering in a smaller scale. The beers I tried were all four to five star ratings for my taste. It’s apparent these fine folks are no amateurs at their craft. If you come and try their product, I am sure you will agree. “Enjoy” and thanks to the Bond Brothers and partners vision to bring this to Cary.

I arrived early evening and the music ended, one food truck sold out, and a fight broke out over a bump and spill. But it was mostly friendly and the beer was excellent! Looking forward to stopping by and meeting the owners and having a beer on a regular business day.

It was a crazy day for sure, Matt. But overall, a fun and positive one. Sorry to hear about the “bump and spill.” Didn’t know that happened. Looking forward to meeting you. Glad you like the beer!
