Cary, NC — The weather was dodgy over the weekend, but Fest in the West found a place in the sun at Parkside Town Commons.

Western Cary’s First Big Festival

The energy was high on Sunday, May 22, 2016 as artists, musicians, food vendors, local breweries and attendees descended on Parkside Town Commons, the new shopping center in Western Cary, for the first-ever Fest in the West, a production of CaryCitizen.

“Stunning success,” said Lindsey Chester, the festival’s creator. “Everyone had a blast.”

Three bands, five breweries, a massive Kid’s Zone, artists, vendors and food vendors turned the shopping center into a Western-style street fair. Favorite events included the pie eating contest, Hillbilly Horseshoes and the antique farm equipment provided by Upchurch Farms.

This was a wonderful event on a Sunday Afternoon. Lots of local artisans and community connections. Really enjoyed the craft beer and the music, it added so much! Hope they hold this event again.
