Coming Films to the Cary Theater – October

Cary, NC – With Halloween coming, the Cary Theater will be playing many classic horror movies as well as some other lighter films and documentaries. Check out the October line-up at the Cary Theater.

Halloween Havoc

All October long, the Cary Theater will be playing the major horror movies of all time, from classics that may seem quaint today to grizzly films that still raise goosebumps.

Dracula – Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 9:30 PM

Therapy for a Vampire – Thursday, October 13 at 7 PM; Friday, October 14 at 9 PM; Saturday, October 15 at 7 PM; Thursday, October 20 at 7 PM; Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 2 PM

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 9 PM

Psycho – Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 9 PM

The Bride of Frankenstein – Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 9 PM

Shaun of the Dead – Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 7 PM (includes a discussion with Dr. Lorraine Cramer of UNC-Chapel Hill about the scientific basis for zombies)

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies – Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2 PM

Night of the Living Dead – Friday, October 28, 2016 at 9:30 PM

Halloween – Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 2 PM (includes footage of an interview with director John Carpenter)

As part of the Halloween horror selection at the Cary Theater in October, on Thursday, October 27, 2016 there will be three films shown that were part of the Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival.

Double Feature: The Brain Hack and Ni 28-Strate 1 at 7 PM (note: The Brain Hack comes with an epilepsy warning for strobe lights and flashing images)

Chrysalis at 9 PM

Also, the Cary Theater will be hosting Zombiepalooza‘s local entries. For Zombiepalooza, local artists make their own short zombie films and they will play at the Cary Theater on Friday, October 28, 2016 before the screening of Night of the Living Dead. And a well-known zombie filmmaker may just be there as well…


October isn’t all ghosts and goblins at the Cary Theater. There will be documentaries playing as well.

Children’s Movies

To occupy kids’ time building up to trick-or-treating, take them to see these movies. All but the October 29 show are “Film Day – Fun Day ” where children are allowed to talk and move around the theater during the movie.
