Cary, NC – With Cam Ward in goal again, the Carolina Hurricanes came from behind and beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1, at a nearly full PNC Arena Friday night. The Penguins always bring a good crowd as there are many that made the move to God’s Country giving Cary its famous acronym, as well as having won the Stanley Cup the past two seasons. Read more
Cary, NC – With any luck, the first time for three wins in a row may be the turning point for the Canes. The Canes started the game four points outside a spot for the Wild Card spot for the playoffs and this solid win over the top team in the highly competitive Metropolitan Division should do a lot for the confidence of this young team and the loyal Caniacs. Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers played one of the most exciting games of the season that had everything any hockey fan could ask for: a home team win, fast play that got the crowd into the game early and throughout the game, a successful powerplay, successful penalty kill, a very exciting overtime and plenty of entertainment off the ice as the game theme was Star Wars with The Force being with the Caniacs on and off the ice. Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes returned home after a semi-successful, two-wins-two-losses-long road trip. The Canes played better than the 2-2 record, which is very encouraging considering their records in recent past years for the get-out-of-town-for the-State-Fair road trip.
Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes garnered a point from the 2-1 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets to close out their short home stand before vacating the PNC Arena while the State Fair is in town. Like the Canes, Columbus is another small market team and doesn’t get a lot of NHL press.
