Islanders Get Revenge in 3-2 OT Win Against Canes

Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes and NY Islanders played the back end of a home-and-home series Tuesday at the PNC Arena after a wild 8-4 Canes win the night before. Jaccob Slavin scored a hat trick with Jeff Skinner and Justin Faulk added two goals each and Joakim Nordstrom adding a solo shot. Tuesday saw the Canes go up by two goals only to squander the lead and eventually lose in overtime. Read more

Leafs Beat Canes 3-2 in OT

Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes last game at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs was a poor outing in a 4-0 loss so both pride, and possibly a few words from the coaching staff, would hopefully have a different outcome. The effort was certainly there but the execution came just that short as the Canes lost 3-2 in overtime. Read more

Canes Rebound, Beat Rangers 4-3 on Aho’s Two Late Goals

Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes had a forgetful two-game road trip out west, losing to two of the worst teams in the NHL, only to return to the PNC Arena to beat the New York Rangers 4-3 in an exciting game Thursday, March 9, 2017. The Rangers beefed up their team for a deep playoff run and it’s not that they took the Canes lightly, it’s more that the Canes again played to the level of their opponents.  Read more

Canes Come Up Short Against Penguins, 3-1

Cary, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes lost to the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-1 for their fifth straight loss and dimming the light on any chance of making the wild card spot for the playoffs. GM Ron Francis has to be entertaining offers for several players such as Ron Hainsey, Lee Stempniak, Jay McClement, Viktor Stalberg and even Justin Faulk. Read more

Difficult Weekend For The Hurricanes With Two Losses

Canes Continue Home Dominance in 2-1 Win Over Oilers

Cary, NC – The Caniacs finally got to see second year phenom, Connor McDavid and he’s everything, and more, that’s been written about him. Even during warmups, he was impressive: his speed is second to none, he’s strong, big, as accurate as a shooter as you’ll fine and can pick his spot like a sniper a mile away.

The Canes held on after an early leady for a tight 2-1 win over the same franchise they won the Stanley Cup over back in 2006. Cam Ward was on the ice then and was on the ice now as, I believe, the lone player from both teams still with their team. Read more

Cary, NC – Sebastian Aho is just 19 years old but plays with the confidence and savvy of a seasoned veteran who has played hockey for 19 years, scored his first career Hat Trick against the Flyers in a solid game for the entire team after the All Star break.  The Canes were riding a five game losing streak while the Flyers were on a three game winning streak, barely holding on to the last playoff spot so this game was important for both teams.
