<p>Cary, NC &#8211; Do you ever ask your neighbors about their talents and hobbies? It always amazes me to see the variety of artistic interests of the &#8220;people next door&#8221;. Occasionally these talents are the way they make their living, often they are diametrically in contrast to their &#8220;day jobs&#8221;.<span id="more-16943"></span></p>
<p>Lochmere will be holding  its Art &amp; Craft Show on Saturday, November 13 from 10:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m. in the <a href="http://carycitizen.com/2010/07/30/shop-cary-lochmere-pavilion/" target="_blank">Lochmere Pavilion Shopping Center</a> parking lot, located on the corner of Lochmere Drive and Kildaire Farm Road.</p>
<p>The show is open to the public.  Many of the artists are from the Lochmere neighborhood and they will be presenting their hand crafted arts and creations for sale.</p>
<p>A sample of items sold last year included paintings, pottery, jewelry, purses, stained glass, concrete stepping stones, painted rocks, and much more.  Face painting will be available as well as the unique and varied shops at the Lochmere Pavilion.</p>

<p>Cary, N.C. – Local artists will bring their hand-crafted works to the Western Wake Farmers’ Market (WWFM) on Sat., Nov. 6, 8 am-1 pm, for the Fall Craft Fair.<span id="more-16772"></span></p>
<p><strong>52 Local Artists<br />
</strong></p>
<p>WWFM&#8217;s Fall Craft Fair will feature 52 local artists’ hand-crafted works, including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Pottery</li>
<li> Jewelry</li>
<li>Holiday décor and gifts</li>
<li>Stoneware</li>
<li>Baby and children’s gifts</li>
<li>Birdhouses</li>
<li>Hand-knitted and felted accessories</li>
<li>Glassware</li>
<li>Natural soaps and lotions</li>
<li>Much more.</li>
</ul>
<p>All artists live and produce their works within 125 miles of the marketplace.</p>
<p>Herons Chef Scott Crawford will be in the Education Tent with free samples of a delicious soup featuring autumn flavors: Parsnip, Chestnut &amp; Apple Soup, Pumpkin Seed-Sage Pesto and Maple Brown Butter.</p>
<p>Friends from the NC 10% Campaign also will raffle off a Herons gift certificate, gift certificates to its partners restaurants, and t-shirts to those who sign up for the campaign to build a local food economy.</p>
<p>The kids will love free face painting at the market courtesy of Lynne Sue Fischer.</p>
<p><strong>WWFM -Now Open Year Round<br />
</strong></p>
<p>WWFM is now open year-round so that the community has access to locally grown and crafted foods all year. Through Nov. 20, the market will be open from 8 am-12 pm (with one extra hour on Nov. 6 for the Craft Fair.)  Starting Dec. 4, the market will be open from 9 am-12 pm.</p>

<p>Cary, N.C. – Local artists and crafters are invited to apply for the Fall Craft Fair at the Western Wake Farmers’ Market, which will be held on Sat., Nov. 6, from 8 am-1 pm at 1225 Morrisville Carpenter Rd. in Cary. <em>Artists must reside and produce their work within a 125-mile radius of the marketplace.<span id="more-12151"></span></em></p>
<p>Last year, more than 1,200 shoppers enjoyed the farmers’ market and the hand-crafted items, including pottery, jewelry, holiday items, photography, baby and kids’ gifts, baskets, paintings and prints, scarves and other fiber and fabric items, and more. The Fall Craft Fair will be held in conjunction with the weekly farmers’ market, which is open through Nov. 20, and features local seasonal produce, plus hormone-free, grass-fed meats, local seafood, cheese, baked goods, wines, coffee and more.</p>
<p>Applications are due by October 15 for consideration. The application is posted at <a href="http://www.westernwakefarmersmarket.org/">www.WesternWakeFarmersMarket.org</a> with vending guidelines.</p>
