			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-56" style="margin: 3px;" title="jang_2" src="http://carycitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/jang_2.jpg" alt="jang_2" width="320" height="180" />Eileen Jang of Cary, a June graduate of <span id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolderContentPane_ContentDetailTemplate1_fvContentInformation_lblNewsAndViewsBody">NC School of Science and Math in Durham</span>, has been named <span id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolderContentPane_ContentDetailTemplate1_fvContentInformation_lblNewsAndViewsBody">U.S. winner of the 2009 <a href="http://www.sjwp.org/" target="_new">Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP)</a>, the most prestigious international competition for water-related research.</span></p>
<p>Ms. Jang studied how mercury persists in freshwater.</p>
<p>The SJWP award includes a $3,000 prize and a free trip to Sweden to compete against other national winners during <span id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolderContentPane_ContentDetailTemplate1_fvContentInformation_lblNewsAndViewsBody"><a href="http://www.worldwaterweek.org/" target="_new">World Water Week</a>.</span></p>
<p>Ms. Jang is headed to Yale this autumn.</p>
