The 2015 Cary Town Council and Staff Retreat was held in Charlotte this past weekend and, I have to say, this was probably one of the best – if not the best – retreats I have ever participated in.
The Wake County Transit Advisory Committee met again in Raleigh on Tuesday. The meeting was similar to our previous one where we worked to design a transit system in a fictitious city, only this time we focused on Wake County.
Improved bus service makes sense. It utilizes existing infrastructure. It is far more cost effective than rail service and, unlike rail, routes can be adjusted or moved based on demand. Once the rail tracks are down that’s it – you ain’t moving them.
Well, unless you happen to be the post office or an advertising agency, you have to be glad the elections are over.

On May 21, 2014, the vision finally became reality with the opening of the Veterans Freedom Park in Cary and the dedication of the 90 foot tall monument.
